De inschrijvingen voor het MIT 2022 (Mega Internationaal Toernooi) zijn geopend! Dit jaar zal het toernooi plaatsvinden op de Uithof in Utrecht op 26 en 27 mei 2022. Het wordt weer hartstikke mooi dus schrijf je snel in! Dit doe je door het inschrijfformulier uit de bijlage in te vullen en te versturen naar sbumitcie@gmail.com!

Ieder jaar organiseert studentenbasketbalvereniging SBU Utrecht het Mega Internationaal Toernooi (MIT), het grootste studentenbasketbaltoernooi van Europa. Door corona- en lockdownellende kon dit toernooi afgelopen 2 jaar helaas niet doorgaan. Gelukkig zijn we er dit jaar gewoon weer bij!
Echter, doordat we lang in onzekerheid zaten of het MIT dit jaar wel kon doorgaan, is de opzet kleiner dan normaal. Deze editie zal er 2 dagen gebasketbald worden (i.p.v. 4 dagen) en zijn er geen slaapplekken. Je zult dit jaar dus helaas zelf een slaapplek moeten regelen. Kom je hier zelf niet uit? Dan kunnen we je helpen met het zoeken naar een slaapaccommodatie. Je kunt ons mailen via sbumitcie@gmail.com.
Wel regelen we als vanouds feesten en ontbijt, lunch en avondeten. Het MIT vindt plaats op 26 en 27 mei, met hemelvaart dus. Het feest en toernooi thema is: ‘MIThology, gods in the arena’.
Op het toernooi hebben we twee niveaus: een hoge (2e divisie of hoger) en een lage divisie (1e klasse of lager). Ook is er een scheiding tussen heren en damesteams.
Naast basketbal hebben we ook twee feesten, een All-star game, verkleedwedstrijd, een groot buitenterras met muziek en nog veel meer. Kort gezegd, een fantastisch toernooi om de zomer mee in te luiden.
Door de korte organisatietijd zijn de kosten zijn nog niet helemaal bekend. Naar verwachting bedragen deze ongeveer tussen de €35,- en €45,- per persoon. Inschrijven kan met een minimum van 9 en een maximum van 13 spelers per team.
Door de beperkte editie dit jaar zijn er slechts een beperkt aantal plaatsen beschikbaar. Schrijf je daarom zo snel mogelijk in! Inschrijven kan door het inschrijfformulier in de bijlage in te vullen en te sturen naar sbumitcie@gmail.com. Ook voor vragen kan je ons mailen op dit adres. De deadline voor het inschrijven is 1 mei 2022.

It will be a grand-old time again so sign up quickly! You can do this by filling in the registration form in the attachment and sending it to us at sbumitcie@gmail.com.

Every year, the student basketball association Utrecht (SBU) organises the Mega International Tournament (MIT), the largest student basketball tournament in Europe. Unfortunately, due to corona and lockdown issues, this tournament could not take place in the past 2 years. Fortunately, this year we are back again!
However, due to a long uncertainty about whether MIT could take place this year, the set-up is smaller than usual. This edition will have 2 days of basketball (instead of 4) and there will be no sleeping accommodation. Therefore, this year you will have to arrange a place to sleep yourself. Can’t manage to fix a sleeping stayover yourself? Then please send us an email at sbumitcie@gmail.com. And we will try to see if we can arrange something for you.
As usual, we will arrange parties at night and breakfast, lunch and dinner during the day. MIT will take place on May 26 and 27 (Ascension Day). The party and tournament’s theme will be ‘MIThology, gods in the arena’.
The tournament has two levels, a high (2nd division or higher (dutch system)) and a low (1th class or lower) division. A distinction is also made between men and women teams.
Besides basketball we also have two parties, an All-star game, a dress-up game, a large outdoor patio with music and much more. In short, a perfect tournament to start-off the summer.
Due to the short organisation time, the costs are not yet fully known. These are expected to be approximately between €35 and €45 per person. You can register with a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 13 players per team.
